Ever wondered what League of Legends GOAT Faker gets up to during his free time? Join us in the lab as we dive into the design process behind the Viper V3 Pro Faker Edition with the Unkillable Demon King himself.
Grab your pen and paper, folks—we’re adding another entry to the ever-growing list of #thingsfakerdoes.
A 5-time League of Legends Worlds Champion, it’s fair to say that no one in the history of esports has had a career quite like the GOAT. On top of 10 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) titles, 4 international MVPs, and 500 World Championship kills—just to scratch the surface—the Unkillable Demon King boasts career stats that stay scarily true to his nickname, logging 666 wins (out of 999 games) with a Kills, Deaths, and Assists (KDA) Ratio of 4.20. It’s a ridiculous figure that has all of us wondering if this might very well be proof that we’re stuck in a simulation.
So how does someone like Faker stay on top for so long? The short answer: tools play a part. Team Razer has racked up wins all over the world, and yep—you guessed it—they did it with Razer gaming gear in hand.
What’s our secret? It’s simple, really. We don’t just guess what pros want—we ask them. Actually, we work with them. When you use Razer gear, you’re using something designed side by side with the people who live and breathe competitive play. It’s not just pro-approved—it’s pro-built.
And kids, that’s how you get hardware that’s truly designed for gamers, by gamers.
Faker’s Affinity with Razer
Contrary to his devilish nickname, Faker’s actually a loyal guy at heart. For those who don’t know, his very first esports mouse was a fan-gifted Razer DeathAdder back in 2013—and it clearly made an impression. He stuck with it through most of his legendary pro career, proving that when something works, you just don’t mess with it.
“Funny enough, my journey with Razer only started when a fan gifted me a DeathAdder mouse right after I became a pro player. It worked perfectly for me then, and I was very impressed by its performance. So when Razer came to me in 2021 to design a of my own, it was an easy yes for me,” says Faker.
When a player specifically chooses his hardware, there’s always a good reason for it. For Faker, intentions are a big part of it: “With every iteration, the improvements made to Razer’s esports mice have always been very simple yet effective for pro play. I feel like Razer really cares about creating great esports gear and not just doing things for the sake of novelty. Today, I’ve added the into my winning arsenal, and I want to continue to be a part of the design process.”
Among all his accolades, Faker’s deep appreciation for his fans stands out just as much. You can see it in the way he always speaks warmly about them and the consideration he shows during every interaction. Even with his busy schedule, he’s happy to take time out to collaborate with Razer on gaming products made specially for his fans. For Faker, it’s a full-circle moment: he cherished the fan-gifted gaming mouse that started it all, and now he wants to give back in the same way.
“For the past 12 years, Razer has been an important part of my legacy. I want to share this glory with my fans and commemorate this happy occasion with a product that brought me my 5th Worlds win.”
The Design Process

In pro play, even the smallest detail can make a massive difference. For Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) and first-person shooter (FPS) players especially, hardware needs to keep up with the relentless pace and high precision their games demand. Even if you’ve got god-given talent like Faker, having the right gaming gear that matches your level of play is just as essential: “As a pro player, my mouse is my competitive lifeline. Playing midlane means I’m constantly roaming, assisting my jungler, and helping secure key objectives. My fans probably know this, but I also like to switch perspectives constantly and stay aware of what’s happening across all lanes. To match my playstyle, I need a mouse that tracks every movement I make with speed and accuracy.”
Like most good things in life, designing a great mouse takes more than meets the eye. At a high level, product designers usually think in three key buckets: form, function, and flair. But to truly understand what a gaming mouse needs, they’ve got to dig deeper and ask the classic 5Ws + 1H: who’s it for, what do they need, when and where will they use it, why does it matter, and how will it all come together?
When it comes to pro players, those questions get technical fast. Shape, grip, click responsiveness—every element plays a crucial role in performance. In this world of the top 0.1%, it’s the tiny details that make a huge impact. We’re talking material, texture, button placement, even the subtle indent of a finger pad. It’s a high-stakes balancing act where precision isn’t just expected—it’s demanded.
For a career gamer like Faker, these minute details separate a good mouse from a great one: “I use a claw grip, so having the right shape and surface really matters. It’s all about control and precision.
When I’m in the zone, every click counts, and the speed and responsiveness of the mouse can make the difference between hitting the perfect combo or missing the window entirely.”
He adds, “For me, it’s not just about winning—it’s about playing with finesse. Each champion has their own rhythm, and getting that right takes practice and precision. I like to keep my fingers moving all the time, so having a mouse that keeps up with me helps me stay fully focused on the game.”
Of course, it would be a crime to make a great mouse that doesn’t look great too. When your gear feels good and looks good, that confidence carries straight into your gameplay. For Faker—a fierce competitor with a calm, understated style—this is a rare chance to let more of his personality shine through and connect with fans on a deeper level. The Razer Viper V3 Pro Faker Edition lets him do exactly that.
“I’m happy that the Demon King image is on the mouse design, since this is what my fans created for me. My signature is featured more prominently on the mouse this time, so I hope my fans can take some of my fighting spirit with them into the Summoner’s Rift.”
Looking Forward
Having been in the competitive scene for as long as Faker has, you’d be forgiven for thinking he might be close to hanging it up. The world certainly thought so in 2023, when a wrist injury mid-season forced him to step away from the stage. But, in true Faker fashion, he returned stronger than ever—defying expectations and clinching his 4th Worlds title after a seven-year drought.
The esports world isn’t always kind to veterans, especially when it seems like they have passed their prime. Yet, despite all the negative voices, Faker has never wavered from the one thing that’s kept him going all these years: his beloved fans. While working on the Razer Viper V3 Pro Faker Edition, he made sure to keep them in mind every step of the way, so that every detail reflected not just his legacy, but the fans who helped shape it: “As someone who has spent nearly half my life as a pro player, I wanted to give back to my amazing fans who have supported me so much throughout my career, as well as young gamers who aspire to follow the same path. This esports gaming mouse is the culmination of my 12-year journey as an esports player, and I’m incredibly proud to have played a part in its creation.”
Today, Faker holds five Worlds titles—and he’s far from done. At the highly anticipated Razer x Faker 10-Year Anniversary Event hosted at Razer HQ in Singapore, Faker unveiled the Razer Viper V3 Pro Faker Edition to the world. As he held the mouse in his hands, there was a clear glint in his eyes—he wasn’t just proud of the product he co-created; he was proud to share something meaningful with the fans who’ve supported him all the way.
“The past 12 years have been incredibly fruitful for me. I’m so thankful to my fans for sticking by my side through it all, and I look forward to achieving even greater results ahead. To the fan who gave me my first DeathAdder mouse—thank you for believing in me from the very beginning.”
