RAZER AND WINFAKT TEAM UP FOR MAXIMUM IMPACT
California. USA – 5th October, 2011 – Razer™, one of the world’s pioneering supporters of e-Sports, and Team WinFakt, a new order in the world of e-Sports, have joined forces. Home to Finnish Counter-Strike 1.6 superstars, formerly Paistit, and Spart1e, world class Quake Live dueller, WinFakt are making giant steps in the world of e-Sports.
“WinFakt are looking incredibly promising at the moment, considering their recent performances on the international stage,” said Robert “RazerGuy” Krakoff, President of Razer USA. “With some of Counter-Strike 1.6’s most familiar faces, and a highly talented Quake dueller, WinFakt are bound to send shockwaves through the e-Sports world.”
Composed of Finland’s elite, and led by Tomi “lurppis” Kovanen, WinFakt.CS have already made big impressions on the world stage and are seen by many as the saviours of Finnish CS 1.6 today. The lineup has a taste of old and new, bringing both experience and raw talent to the table in what has become a potent combination.
WinFakt.CS have now secured themselves third place at the IEM Season VI Guangzhou event as well as qualifying for the Samsung European Championships in Warsaw, giving the team bright opportunities for the near future. The team is presently boot-camping for two days prior to China in the hopes of solidifying their game, ready to compete on the international stage once again.
“E-Sports is our passion, as it is Razer’s,” said Jelle “Jelle” Baudeweyns, COO of Team WinFakt. “This partnership secures a bright future for us both, and especially for our Finnish Counter-Strike team who, travelling to as many international events as possible, will also have the privilege to use the world’s best possible gaming hardware for professional gamers made by Razer. Here’s to a very bright future.”
Together, we truly believe in the future success of both parties – WinFakt establishing themselves as a number one worldwide organization, and Razer as the world’s current number one gaming peripherals, ideal for our professional gamers. Here’s to a bright future.” Hardware
Sebastian “Spart1e” Siira is the other deadly weapon in WinFakt’s e-Sports arsenal, an incredibly accomplished and popular Quake dueller who in 2010 managed a fourth place finish at Quakecon and continued to show dominance earlier in the year with 2-1 victories over Quake titans Shane “rapha” Hendrixson and Alexei “Cypher” Yanushevsky to take fourth at the IEM Season V World Championship Finals.
