RAZER, ESAHARA AND OLD GENERATIONS FORM A NEW INTERNATIONAL E-SPORTS ALLIANCE
Trifecta forms to extend support for Korean and international gamers
Carlsbad, Calif. – February 3rd, 2012 – Razer, one of the world’s pioneering supporters of e-Sports, eSahara, France-based European e-Sports organisation, and Old Generations (oGs), professional South Korean StarCraft II team, have formed a partnership to help grow each other’s presence in Korean and international e-Sports.
The partnership between all three organisations looks towards developing the ability for European pro-gamers to immerse themselves in a Korean training environment, and for Korean pro-gamers to have more opportunities to participate in international competitions with Razer’s financial support and provision of high-end peripherals to strengthen the project.
eSahara, formed in 2010, consists of some of the most competitive and well-known personalities in their disciplines, including professional French Counter-Strike 1.6 team, captained by star player Mickael “mSx” Cassisi, a StarCraft II roster brimming with international talent, including Santeri “Naama” Lahtinen, top-class Ukrainian DotA2 team and Quake legend Kevin “strenx” Baéza.
oGs, known to many as one of the most competitive Korean StarCraft II rosters, boast a host of strong professional players, including hugely popular ex-Brood War pro, Lee “NaDa” Yoon Yeol, Terran extraordinaire Kim “SuperNoVa” Young Jin and GSL August runner up Kim “TOP” Jung Hoon. Based out of Incheon, South Korea, oGs surround themselves with a hugely professional training environment to ensure the best possible results in a brutally competitive Korean StarCraft II scene.
With opportunities for both Korean and international players now wide open for both teams, the agreement was made to name and tag the team, “oGs.eSahara” for all domestic Korean events and, “eSahara.oGs” for all international events.
“Razer is proud to be partnering with these incredibly talented teams, eSahara and oGs. Other than the phenomenal Counter Strike and DotA2 line-up, they are bringing in a vast talent pool of StarCraft II players” says Robert “RazerGuy” Krakoff, President, Razer USA. “With our commitment to this partnership, Razer will be doing its part to see an increased presence of the high-skilled players of oGs in international events, and an emphasis on a professional training environment for eSahara’s international players.”
“eSahara is very happy to start our partnership with Old Generations and Razer,” said Ryad Abour, CEO of eSahara. “We have many exciting projects in the future that our fans and followers have to look forward to as a result of this strong alliance between the three of us and e-Sports will undoubtedly be better off as a whole with our combined efforts.”
“It is an honor to be in a partnership with such a great brand as Razer which supports the best teams across the globe,” said Park “TheWind” Sang Ik, Head Coach of Old Generations. “oGs has always had outstanding respect for Razer's passion towards StarCraft II and e-Sports as a whole, having designed a lot of highly competitive gear to help gamers be their best. oGs, in association with eSahara, will strive to make their partners proud by showing good games and good results in 2012 and beyond.”
